Akums Drugs & Pharma Appoints Tarun Kapoor As CIO and Senior Vice President – IT

Tarun Kapoor has been appointed as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Vice President – IT, at Akums Drugs & Pharma and its group companies to head its IT function.

In his new role, he is responsible for leading Akums Pharma Group’s Technology strategy, driving digital transformation with data and AI vision, and ensuring efficient & secured IT operations with its roadmap. He also focus on aligning IT with business goals and vision, managing risk, fostering innovation, strengthening cyber security and modernizing IT Infra, spearheading IT-OT, optimizing cost, sweating existing assets, strengthening governance, minimizing business risks, and enhancing business digital experience.

Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Tarun shared his vision to align IT with business goals, while working closely with teams and partners to unlock the next chapter of digital growth for the organization.

Kapoor in his LinkedIn post, stated, “I am glad to share that I have taken up CIO role at Akums Pharma and its group companies to head its IT function and am designated as Senior Vice President – IT.

Kapoor also expressed gratitude for his previous tenure at Mankind Pharma, thanking its leadership, including Arjun Juneja, Pramod Gokhale, Prateek Dubey, and Rajeev Juneja, for their support and mentorship.

Prior to joining Akums, Tarun served as Vice President – Digital Transformation at Mankind Pharma. His earlier roles include positions at BT Group, VFS Global Services Pvt Ltd – India, CRISIL Limited, Infoton Systems and Services Private Limited, Indigo Systems & Technologies (I) Private Limited, and Tycoon Technologies.

Kapoor has completed his graduation in computer science with specialisations in software and mobile computing, and also obtained various executive management degrees and certifications from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and the Indian School of Business.
