Deloitte Australia acquired Plenary Networks

Deloitte Australia has acquired Plenary Networks, its eighth technology related startup acquisition in the past two years.

Plenary, founded by managing director Peter Stojkovski in 2012, turned over $2.15 million in 2015-16 and is on the IT supply panel for Australia Post, Jetstar, the Parliament of Victoria, REA Group, the Red Cross Blood Service and Tabcorp.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed publicly as the deal is structured in such a way that Mr Stojkovski effectively agrees to become a Deloitte partner from November 2, and his nine Plenary Networks staff will join him.

Plenary’s specialty was supporting corporates looking to move towards so-called “software defined networking”, where changes to a company’s tech networks can be made in a more agile fashion.

This trend has been enabled by networking giants such as Cisco, F5 Networks and Palo Alto Networks exposing their application programming interfaces, meaning users can “virtualise” more of their network infrastructure and allow it to adapt faster to new technologies, such as ‘internet of things’ connectivity.
