Scotiabank appoints Rajendra Bhalerao as CISO

Scotiabank has appointed SBM Bank’s former Chief Information Security Officer Rajendra Bhalerao as its CISO. He will be based in Mumbai in his new role.

Bhalerao’s appointment to the post comes close on the heels of former JM Financial Group CTO Chaitanya Wagh stepping in as Scotiabank’s CTO.

Scotiabank is Canada’s leading bank offering personal and commercial banking, wealth corporate & investment banking.

Prior to SBM Bank, Bhalerao worked in the same capacity at Paytm Payments Bank. He had held leadership roles at different organizations including NPCI, IndusInd Bank and WNS Global Services.

Rajendra has a BE in Electronics from the University of Mumbai and also holds a degree in Masters in Management Studies (Systems).
