GuestLogix, Inc. announced it has successfully completed the rollout of its retail platform and handheld POS devices onboard Spring Airlines. GuestLogix’ solution is now being leveraged to accept payment for the purchase of duty free items onboard the Chinese low cost carrier, and will soon be utilized to accept payment for food and beverage. The Company’s Global Payment Gateway and Ancillary Insights business intelligence platform have also been implemented to optimize the carrier’s retail performance. Spring Airlines is one of the most innovative carriers in mainland China, and the full deployment of GuestLogix’ technology to support the carrier’s onboard retail program will serve as an example to the industry in mainland China and Asia Pacific.
“Spring Airlines is a true innovator with a history of embracing technology and forward-thinking business models that have earned it many ‘firsts’ in the region. In China, it was the first established LCC, the first carrier to introduce a Buy on Board model and the first to execute Internet and mobile sales, making it a true trendsetter,” said Patrick O’Neill, COO & Managing Director, GuestLogix Business Unit. “’We are grateful to play a key role in this airline’s retailing strategy, which sets the stage for other carriers in China and Asia Pacific, which represents the largest market in the world.”
GuestLogix’ retail platform, Global Payment Gateway and PCI-compliant handheld POS devices have been implemented to accept China UnionPay credit cards for the purchase of duty free items onboard, and subsequently, for food and beverage. Additionally, the carrier is now utilizing the Company’s Ancillary Insights platform, aiding its ability to maximize its ancillary revenue potential. In the near future, GuestLogix will be enabling the inflight acceptance of additional internationally recognized credit cards for onboard retail purchases, and may also deploy its OnTouch Destination Merchandising local attraction and transportation passes.
