Altri Selects Kyndryl for Cybersecurity Services

Kyndryl offers cybersecurity services to the group’s three industrial units in Portugal: Caima, Celbi and Biotek

Kyndryl, the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, and Altri, SGPS, S.A., a leading European renewable pulp and paper group, have agreed to a partnership where Kyndryl will provide cybersecurity audit services for Altri’s industrial production systems.

Kyndryl’s Security & Resiliency services will allow Altri to have a better understanding of the cybersecurity maturity of the industrial component of its plants. Kyndryl will also create a plan to improve the resilience of the company’s production systems in an integrated way with the information technology environment. Implementing such a plan will enable Altri to address the risks arising from new cyber threats.

The convergence of IT and operational technology (OT) networks and the threats to which both are subject are a growing challenge for internal departments in industrial-based companies. Nowadays, there is not only the need, but more than that, the requirement that both IT and OT areas make decisions based on a common cybersecurity strategy. Only in this way can the company achieve and maintain a high state of cybersecurity maturity. It is this approach that Kyndryl brings to Altri’s units,” said  António Lorvão, Customer Technology Advisor of Kyndryl Portugal.

The digitalization of operational processes has resulted in increased productivity and efficiency. But the convergence of IT and OT technologies and communication between systems brings risks and threat vectors to organizations. New cybersecurity solutions and strategies are needed to cover IT and OT networks and meet the operational and security needs of both areas,” said Miguel Coelho, IT Director of Grupo Altri.
