FPT and Telechips Collaborate to Introduce AI-Powered Intelligent Cockpit Platform

FPT and Telechips will showcase a next-generation AI-powered Intelligent Cockpit at CES 2026. This joint solution combines Telechips’ latest automotive semiconductor technology with FPT’s advanced AI system engineering and cockpit software capabilities and will be demonstrated live at CES 2026.

Global technology corporation FPT and world-leading Korean chipmaker Telechips announced their collaboration with the next-gen Digital Cockpit to deliver richer user experiences, higher safety standards, and faster innovation cycles—without adding hardware complexity.

Named Smart AI Cabin, FPT’s AI-powered Intelligent Cockpit Platform delivers a plug-and-play, modular architecture for OEMs seeking speed, flexibility, and future-ready scalability. It also combines real-time edge intelligence, hypervisor-less virtualization, and an OTA-ready software stack—featuring an AI Orchestrator that seamlessly manages 30+ modular agents to enable personalization, safety, and domain consolidation.

This collaboration reflects a shared vision between FPT and Telechips to move beyond traditional digital cockpits toward truly intelligent, AI-defined in-vehicle experiences,” said Nguyen Duc Kinh, FPT Software EVP and FPT Automotive CEO, FPT Corporation. “By combining automotive-grade silicon with scalable AI software, we are enabling OEMs to innovate faster while delivering meaningful value to drivers and passengers.

Agentic AI at the Edge

AI-powered Intelligent Cockpit platform by FPT is its AI-first design philosophy. Rather than treating AI as an add-on feature, the platform embeds intelligence directly into the cockpit’s core operations.

In FPT’s optimized system configuration, running on Telechips’ Dolphin 5 SoC based platforms, the AI Orchestrator manages more than 30 specific AI agents running locally at the vehicle’s edge, with response times as low as 30 milliseconds. By processing up to 95% of user requests on-device under 100 milliseconds, the system minimizes cloud dependency while ensuring real-time, context-aware interaction.

These AI agents cover a wide range of in-vehicle use cases, including driver preference learning, intelligent navigation, energy optimization, voice and face recognition, and advanced driver and occupant monitoring. Each agent is designed to be modular and domain-specific, allowing OEMs to activate or evolve capabilities based on vehicle segment, regional requirements, and lifecycle strategy.

Revolving the Digital Cockpit Features

From a system architecture perspective, the cockpit platform leverages hypervisor-less virtualization, enabling hardware-level isolation with lower latency and reduced system overhead compared to traditional virtualization approaches. This design supports higher determinism and safety while maintaining the flexibility required for modern multi-domain cockpits. Combined with a modular software stack, the platform can be adapted easily to different E/E architectures and future OTA-driven feature expansion—without requiring hardware to re-design.

At CES 2026, FPT and Telechips will demonstrate how AI-powered Intelligent Cockpit delivers a seamless and immersive in-vehicle experience. Visitors will see AI-driven personalization that automatically adapts displays, infotainment, and cabin settings to individual drivers; advanced HMI and multimodal interaction through voice, gesture, and touch; and next-generation visualization concepts including 3D cockpit rendering and AR-enhanced HUD scenarios. Safety and security are also integral to the platform, with ADAS visualization, predictive vehicle health monitoring, and digital key technologies supporting both convenience and protection.

With more than 18 years of experience in Cockpit Domain Controller, FPT supports over 160 digital cockpit, HMI, and telematics programs, powered by 1,800+ automotive engineers, and works with leading OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers worldwide. The tech firm currently holds key industry certifications including A-SPICE Level 3, ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, CMMI Level 5, and TISAX, reinforcing its commitment to quality, safety, and cybersecurity.

Meanwhile, Telechips is a leading fabless semiconductor company specializing in automotive SoCs for digital cockpit, IVI, ADAS, and connected vehicle applications. Its Dolphin series is widely adopted by global OEMs seeking high-performance, scalable, and automotive-grade silicon solutions. Designed for long-term automotive supply, functional safety alignment and system scalability, Telechips enables the transition toward software-defined and AI-ready vehicles.
