Network traffic visibility platform provider Gigamon has launched a new platform designed to give enterprises extensive visibility into network traffic, users, applications and suspicious activity.
Dubbed GigaSECURE, the platform was designed to provide visibility without impacting network availability, and is comprised of hardware and software components that provide security administrators with visibility and capability for improving the effectiveness of other third party security solutions, the company said.
According to Gigamon, the platform enhances the deployment architecture of security systems and third party security applications through new capabilities that include providing network wide reach, including cloud and virtual environments, offering scalable metadata extraction for improved forensics,isolation of applications for targeted inspection;delivering visibility to encrypted traffic for threat detection,& supporting in-line and out-of-band security device deployments.
The GigaSECURE platform supports products from several security partners, such as IPS, SIEM, WAF, and Advanced Threat Prevention solution providers. Support for FireEye’s threat prevention products was announced this week.
