Microsoft Kevin Scott as CTO

Microsoft Corp said that it has appointed Kevin Scott as chief technology officer.

Scott has joined Microsoft’s senior leadership team. He will be reporting directly to Microsoft chief executive officer Satya Nadella.Scott, 44, was formerly senior vice president of engineering for the professional social-networking firm, which Microsoft scooped up in a $26.2 billion deal sealed last month.

He will continue to play an active role at Linkedin as senior vice president of infrastructure, the company said.
