New Era of Data Driven Governance Beckons Bihar; Bipard in the State Capital Set to Have GenNext Lab

With realisation in the highest echelons of government that data collection and its interpretation on a real time basis is key to improving governance metrics both in Urban and Rural parts of the state, GenNextLab was launched at the Bihar Institute of Public administration and Rural Development (BIPARD). Alongside Viksit Chintan Kaksh- a chamber for data driven policy level deliberations and Nitishala, an AI driven immersive learning lab was also inaugurated by B V R Subrahmanyam, CEO of Niti Aayog.

The facility has three rooms- Bihar GenNext Lab: a lab that collects real time data on various sectors such as rural development, women empowerment, sanitation etc and impacts the Government schemes have in improving ground level metrics. Second to complement it is Viksit Chintan Kaksh: An advanced Data interpretation centre that can host more than 20 people and is equipped with advanced video conferencing facility, AI enabled data sharing tools that shall help bureaucrats in state capital, districts, faculty and students to evaluate and interpret data collected on real time basis. And to assist both will be Nitishala- as the name suggest a planning centre which shall have capacity of accommodating more than 100 people. This shall help bridge the gap between policy formulation and implementation on the ground.

The three together will provide a framework for a data driven effective governance model. According to Simran Lokwani, Project head of Tagbin, AI/VR tech services company behind this AI enabled governance model, “We are proud to be at the forefront of innovation with the inauguration of the Bihar GenNext Lab and its supporting initiatives.
