Airawat PSAI: India’s Fastest Supercomputer ranks 75th among Global Top 500

The supercomputer Airawat PSAI has been named in the 61st edition of the Top 500 Global Supercomputing List released recently.

Airawat PSAI is India’s fastest supercomputer and largest AI supercomputing system. Airawat  ranks 75th among the  world’s top 500 supercomputers.

Airawat has the potential to revolutionize various sectors, including weather forecasting, drug discovery, climate modeling, and artificial intelligence research.

AIRAWAT’s manufacturer is Netweb Technologies. Airawat PSAI was deployed in 2023. Apart from Airawat, Netweb Technologies has built other supercomputing systems such as Agastya, PARAM Ambar, PARAM YUVA-II, and Kabru.

Among the other Indian supercomputers that features in the list includes PARAM Siddhi-AI is developed by Center for Development of Advance Computing (C-DAC) in collaboration with French IT consulting firm Atos, Pratyush and Mihir are developed by Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology and National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting respectively.

Airawat PSAI has a remarkable speed of 13,170 teraflops.

In addition to its impressive ranking, Airawat’s emergence as India’s fastest supercomputer signifies a major milestone for the country’s technological advancements.

AI supercomputer AIRAWAT is utilized by Center for Development of Advance Computing (C-DAC), Pune. The system is installed under National Program on AI by the Government of India.

Center for Development of Advance Computing (C-DAC), Pune is a prominent R&D organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.

C-DAC, Pune focuses on research and development in various domains, including information technology, electronics, and supercomputing.
