CrowdStrike has been recognised in a key security category by Frost & Sullivan as the 2022 Asia-Pacific Managed Detection and Response (MDR) vendor of the year. This follows CrowdStrike’s recognition as a global leader in Frost & Sullivan’s inaugural Frost Radar: Cloud-Native Application Protection Platforms, 2022 report.
Organizations in Asia-Pacific are challenged by cost pressures, an evolving threat landscape and a shortage of security professionals making it difficult for them to secure their IT infrastructure while advancing their digital transformation journey. They want to consolidate their cybersecurity approach by using a single platform that is expandable, efficient and provides visibility across their technology stack.
Frost & Sullivan lauded the CrowdStrike Falcon platform’s ability to deliver on these changing business needs and add relevant security products to its flagship MDR offering, resulting in CrowdStrike’s recognition as the MDR vendor of the year in Asia Pacific.
Frost & Sullivan was also impressed with CrowdStrike’s proactive approach in continuously expanding into new markets and cybersecurity areas such as extended detection and response (XDR), identity, observability and cloud threat hunting while retaining its leadership in MDR.
Standing Out From the Crowd
In its report, Frost & Sullivan highlighted a number of ways that CrowdStrike distinguishes itself from the competition:
- CrowdStrike’s robust, cloud-native and single-agent platform architecture enables the company to flexibly adapt its approach, expanding its reach in legacy markets and new-generation security products.
- With CrowdStrike fully handling anomalies detected in the system quickly and effectively, customers can focus on more essential security projects instead of wearing their in-house security team thin.
- As organizations in Asia-Pacific continue to face security personnel shortages, CrowdStrike’s strict training regime for its in-house MDR analysts gives the company a competitive edge. Customers can leave the responsibility of mitigating threats to the company.
- CrowdStrike’s value proposition is unique as many traditional MDR providers only identify threats without remediating them; customers are expected to mitigate threats by themselves. This approach is no longer viable as organizations increasingly prefer MDR providers like CrowdStrike that are outcomes-focused and go the extra mile by tackling and mitigating threats.
Frost & Sullivan applauded CrowdStrike’s strategic efforts and best practices in expanding its Asia-Pacific reach, such as translating its MDR service into local languages and choosing established distributors with a robust regional presence. It commented that CrowdStrike’s commitment to understanding the local markets, overcoming technological and cultural barriers, and positioning itself as a reliable MDR provider will strengthen its growth in Asia-Pacific.
Daphne Dwiputriane, Research Associate, Frost & Sullivan said: “CrowdStrike provides customers with a unified security platform that offers comprehensive visibility and protection across endpoints and cloud workloads, data, and identity. The platform is easy to deploy and integrate with existing security tools, is also cost-effective and efficient, offering users a seamless operating experience.”
“CrowdStrike has evolved its flagship endpoint security and threat intelligence solutions by offering surgical remediation as part of its MDR offering, to help customers protect themselves against an ever-evolving threat landscape. Backed by a pool of highly skilled talent and strong local support, the company sets itself apart from competitors as a preferred partner for businesses seeking to address security challenges. Its robust growth momentum over the past two years has made CrowdStrike a leading MDR provider in the region.”
Frost & Sullivan estimates that CrowdStrike was the fastest-growing MDR company in the region in 2021.
Leading the Market in Managed Detection and Response
Many organizations lack the expertise, resources and bandwidth to stay in front of the increasingly sophisticated and evolving threat landscape, and the adversaries behind it.
“Organizations now prefer a service provider that can detect and remediate threats in their infrastructure. Unique from other MDR products that only identify threats without remediating them, CrowdStrike Falcon Complete, CrowdStrike’s flagship MDR solution, removes threats as soon as it detects them,” said Thomas Etheridge, chief global services officer at CrowdStrike. “Combating resource issues and cyber skills shortages, Complete provides access to a team composed of seasoned security professionals with experience in incident handling, incident response, forensics, SOC analysis, identity protection and IT administration.”
