Focusing more & more on digitalization: Rajeev Khade, Sigma Electric Manufacturing

The biggest lesson learned from Covid-19 is that every organisation has to gear up themselves for such kind of unforeseen situation, says Rajeev Khade, Vice President Global Information Technology, Sigma Electric Manufacturing Corp. Pvt. Ltd., who in interaction with CIO Axis, shares technologies and trends his organization to focus on in 2021.

What are your proposals to accelerate the digital transformation of companies and return to a new post-pandemic normal?

Study every process and identify respective stages in the each process and automate them to reduce time and cost involved in each of them. This helps to achieve quality improvement, accuracy consistency and efficiency improvement.

Can you please share some of the unique lessons learned from Covid-19?

Every organisation was forced to work from home. Irrespective of the type of industry every, organizations were compelled to give remote access to their employee’s. For this to happen the IT environment was required to scale up and meet this unforeseen demand w.r.t Infrastructure, security (data and external world), bandwidth.

The biggest lesson learnt was every organisation has to gear up themselves for such kind of unforeseen situation.

What technologies and trends will your organization be focusing on in 2021?

We will be focusing more & more on digitalization, Robotic Process automation, Industry 4.0, Virtual reality.

How will the cybersecurity sector look in a post-COVID-19 world? What do you expect to be different when it comes to cybersecurity and hiring in a post-COVID-19 world?

Cybersecurity will be of topmost importance & priority as the new normal is work from anywhere. More & more security and cloud initiatives will be seen from various industries in the days to come. The expectations from Industries would be one stop solution from a single vendor rather than having different solutions for different areas of IT environment. This will help organizations to manage their IT setup/environment remotely in an efficient manner.
