HP Enterprise introduces 3PAR StoreServ Storage

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has launched new HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage solutions that are designed to accelerate the move to all-flash Datacentres.

The 3PAR Online Import software, as part of the new solutions portfolio, offers a free, 12 month license for customers looking to move off hard disk (HDD)-bound legacy storage via five-step migration from EMC, HDS and IBM XIV storage.

According to HPE, the 3PAR Flash Acceleration for Oracle as part of the portfolio, boosts database performance up to 75 per cent and enables systems like EMC VMAX to remain in place.

The vendor also introduced the 3PAR StoreServ 8200 Converged File and Block Kit that is said to enable consolidation onto a single unified system.

Additionally, HPE released reference architectures for 3PAR StoreServ Storage that are designed to address Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and SharePoint environments as well as HPE Software solutions for information management.

The vendor has also integrated 3PAR StoreServ with new HPE StoreEver product lines. HPE claimed the integration looks to ensure protection and retention keep pace with demand.

HPE said its new solutions are designed to help customers as they move away from traditional backup silos in favour of flash-array and application integrated data protection.

The vendor said the new HPE StoreOnce Systems support native integration with Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, Veeam and Veritas applications to improve performance, reduce network bandwidth and eliminate dedicated backup management.

According to HPE, the StoreOnce models include StoreOnce Recovery Manager Central (RMC) software that is integrated with VMware. The vendor said the solution reduces risk by allowing users to move data to a secondary storage tier and with the added Data Protector and RMC, customers can gain virtual machine recovery options, granular item recovery and the ability to use tiers such as tape and Cloud for long-term retention.
