Infor, the industry cloud company, announced that Guilford County, N.C is successfully utilizing the Infor UpgradeX program to migrate to the latest, cloud-enabled version of Infor Lawson Enterprise Financial Management. By migrating the existing on-premise applications to a cloud-hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS), Guilford County is able to drastically lower operating costs by cutting hardware investments. County decision-makers also established value in utilizing Infor’s cloud-based disaster recovery plan to safeguard County data and provide for business continuity.

“We are constantly looking for ways to streamline our technology infrastructure to better serve our citizens. By investing in Infor UpgradeX, we are able to migrate our core systems to a consolidated cloud-based platform that is cost-effective and reliable,” said Hemant Desai, CIO, Guilford County. “Infor provides us with a customized approach to best align with our business goals, while providing a flexible solution to help us maintain and grow our technology portfolio.”

Infor UpgradeX provides Guilford County with a simple, clear path for migrating to the Infor 10x platform via a single tenant cloud deployment that is hosted through a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This approach provides County decision-makers with a single point of contact to manage the specific needs of its IT portfolio. By opting for cloud-based hosting, County decision-makers were also able to align its technology investment with a disaster recovery initiative.

In addition to Infor Lawson, Guilford County plans to utilize Infor ION®, a purpose-built middleware. This application provides a fluid, streamlined approach for managing the core processes of the County.

“Infor UpgradeX provides a cost-effective solution for organizations like Guilford County, that are looking to make the transition to the cloud because it provides cost-effective, industry-specific functionality while helping the organization meet its core needs,” said Kevin Curry, senior vice president, Infor Public Sector. “We look forward to growing our relationship with Guilford County for years to come.”
