Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, with the event scheduled to commence at around 5 PM. The GPAI is a collaborative initiative involving 29 member countries, and it aims to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) by fostering cutting-edge research and applied activities in AI-related domains. India holds the position of the lead chair for GPAI in 2024.

As one of the founding members of GPAI since its establishment in 2020, India has been actively involved in the initiative. Currently serving as the incoming Support Chair for GPAI, the country is gearing up to take on the Lead Chair role for GPAI in the year 2024. The Annual GPAI Summit is being hosted by India from December 12 to 14, 2023, reflecting the nation’s pivotal role in shaping the global discourse on artificial intelligence.

The summit agenda includes a variety of sessions covering diverse topics such as AI and global health, education and skilling, AI and data governance, and a machine learning workshop, among others. Additionally, the summit will feature significant attractions like the Research Symposium, the AI Gamechangers Award, and the India AI Expo.
