Brillio has been named a Principal Member of the new global Metaverse Standards Forum, which will focus on establishing open standards and interoperability across the metaverse. As an early adopter of the metaverse, Brillio is primed to address concerns on its lack of existing standards, regulatory guidelines, and fragmented user base that would benefit from specialized hardware and usage framework.
The Metaverse Standards Forum (MSF) was created on June 21, 2022. The global forum aims to “foster interoperability standards for an open metaverse,” and its aims to accelerate developing metaverse technologies. Multiple industry leaders have stated that the potential of the metaverse will be best realized if it is built on a foundation of open standards. MSF provides two levels of membership – ‘Participant’ organizations can engage in forum discussions and projects. ‘Principal’ organizations are those that also wish to assist in Forum oversight and may wish to fund Forum projects. This forum already has reputed organizations such as Meta, NVIDIA, Huawei, Khronos Group, and many others as its founding members.
“At Brillio, we’re proud to be named a Principal Member of the new Metaverse Standards Forum, which will focus on establishing open standards and interoperability across the metaverse. As an early adopter of the metaverse, we’re primed to address concerns on its lack of existing standards, regulatory guidelines, and fragmented user base that would benefit from specialized hardware and usage framework,” said a spokesperson at Brillio.
“The goal of our membership in this collaborative body will be to build an inclusive, open metaverse at a global scale where organizations and companies cooperate to foster growth and users gather to experience connectivity and unprecedented spatial computing. Working alongside other members, the Forum will build a truly successful and innovative standard that is seamlessly integrated and ubiquitous.”
