Cybersecurity to be more skill driven: Dhruv Khanna, Data Resolve

by CIO AXIS

Cybersecurity is going to be more skill driven than Certification driven game in future. One has to clearly understand the difference between getting a certificate vs executing a control, says Dhruv Khanna, Co-founder at Data Resolve, who has an experience of close to twenty years in the industry. In an interaction with CIO AXIS, he says that a good amount of churns is going to happen in the next 3-4 years in Cyber Security.

Security is crowded market. First and foremost, where do you find the Data Resolve Technologies?

Dhruv-We are in an end-point and in the data security space, few incumbent OEMs here and is a growing market as controls are getting consolidated at end-point. Over the last few years, we co-created components for our clients, developed innovative use cases to tackle a sector specific problem.

What are your product lines? What makes your products a cut above the rest?

Dhruv – We are broadly addressing two sweet spots, one in Cyber Security and one where we chartered our journey recently is into employee engagement, performance, productivity space and third we are under transition to blend both spots. Transition is our innovation, blend is uniqueness.

Can you please share some of the unique lessons learned from Covid-19?

Dhruv – I can simply say its simplicity when you offer a security or an IT control to a CXO. Secondly speed at which you can generate analytics for faster decision making, how you can predict information with given data set and most importantly product with a lower TCO with architecture supporting OPEX model that covers entire cycle from on-boarding to sustenance.

How will the cybersecurity sector look in a post-COVID-19 world? What do you expect to be different when it comes to cybersecurity and hiring in a post-COVID-19 world?

Dhruv-Its going to be more skill driven than Certification driven game, one has to clearly understand the difference between getting a certificate vs executing a control. Industry is going to on-board controls based on use cases, research reports no more relevant in these times as the world has witnessed a new dimension of basic IT controls supporting organisation continuity, all frills or seasonal controls have no room. Most importantly with an automation mindset while building a product, human resource factor will take a big hit in Cyber Security and you will see a good amount of churns going to happen in the next 3-4 years in Cyber Security. Let’s wait and watch.
